Lemons

Yes, It's been awhile, I haven't been feeling it. Time to majorly vent though. This is going to be a bitch-fest, then I promise, I'll move on because what else is there to do?

You know that saying about the lemons? Well as of late life's been rubbing those lemons in our eyes, not just handing them to us.

January 30th, D goes away for a mans weekend to Anaconda. One of his friends "has words" with some fellows in the bar in Butte (if you don't know anything about Butte, look it up. Not the kind of place you want to have words woth someone). Next morning the boys discover that D's tires have been slashed. I assure you all new tires were not so much in the budget!

February begins, I'm still unemployed, working temp jobs. I finally get into see the doc about my non stop head cold, ear and sinus infections. We schedule to remove my adnoids and tonsils. Feb 3rd, I have the surgery. Feb 6th, while laying on the couch sucking on a popsicle (best 2 week long diet ever, I lost 18lbs because I couldn't eat!) D runs up stairs, apperantly there is standing water downstairs. Plummers arrive, they discover tree roots growing into the main line from the house to the sewer. What fun. We leave the house, spend the next 4 nights on a friends couch. Finally the demolition and restoration begins arround the 10th of Feb. The insurance company pulls their heads out of their arses and decide to put us up in a hotel.

The restoration process at the house is underway and they find one thing after another wrong. They have to rip out all of the carpets downstars, replace large sections of the drywall. They discover mold under the bath tub, rip out the shower to find faulty plumming, the list goes on and on and on. D, Me and the 75lb puppy are all STILL living in a hotel. The cats are at the house, we visit occasionally, but I'm expecting they'll be fully feral when we eventually do return to the house.

Yesturday, D got notified that the organization he works for is closing up shop all over the country. Yeah, this is the job he took back in september, the one that was supposed to be permanant, the organization that was "in it for the long haul" , the job he took over two other good offers partially because he was assured it was a long term kind of thing. Yeah, that one. They are letting all 144 employees go 6 months after hiring them.

To recap: we are both unemployed, living in a hotel with our dog, driving around with brand spanking new tires with only 2 tonsils between the both of us.

*Sigh*

It can only get better from here right?!
